These are not the big old trees that I enjoy communing with, but they are the younger ones that live closer to the house. They are part of the wonders of Nature that surround me and cradle my soul.
We are less than an hour from the Atlantic Ocean. As soon as I get beyond the fresh smell of the salt air, it all smells dry and stale to me. I guess the ocean gets in your blood and you can not fight it. I grew up in north-central Ontario, a hundred plus miles from any real city, ten miles from shopping so when we were able to move here in the mid 1980's, I jumped at it and have given thanks every day since. It is truly my sanity.
Beautiful! My wife and I drove through Nova Scotia on our 10th anniversary trip last May. I really like the country and would love to travel back that way sometime. We spent a week on PEI....
Thanks Glen. PEI Is a beautiful island, but my heart belongs to Nova Scotia. It truly is a paradise. We moved from Toronto to Halifax in 1975, then to this old 30+ acre farmstead in 1986. If you ever come this way again, let me know.
I am a deeply spiritual person on a path to higher development. I live in the present, while squarely facing the future. My name, Zareba (pronounced Zareeba) means Refuge, Safe Enclosure. I try to live up to that definition.

Hoo boy! You live in great beauty! I can almost smell the cool humid clarity of the air.

The trees are wonderfully beautiful as is your love for them.
Thanks
Thank you, Beard. I wish I could introduce you to my giant hemlocks.
